Danza Folklórica

What if we could find a new way to connect, build community, and have fun together?

I’m Ruben Suarez, a high school biology teacher at ASFG, and I’d like to invite you to join our Adult Mexican Folkloric Dance Group—a space for teachers, parents, and alumni to meet new people and share an experience through traditional Mexican dance.

You might be wondering, “what is a science teacher doing teaching a dance class?” Well, I have been dancing for 20 years, representing Jalisco in cultural festivals throughout Mexico, as well as representing Mexico in international festivals in the United States, Colombia, and Guatemala. Dance has been an important part of my life for many years, and I’m very excited to bring this passion into our community and share it with all of you!

Through traditional dances, we will explore Mexican culture, rhythm, coordination, and technique. And don't worry about your experience level! Whether you have danced for years or have never tried it before, everyone is welcome. We'll learn, move, and have fun together.

📅 Dates & Times: Mondays and Thursdays | 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.

📍 Location: HS Building, Room 401

💵 Cost for 2 months:

  • 1 day per week: $1,865 MXN

  • 2 days per week: $3,735 MXN

👥 For: Adults in the ASFG Community (staff, parents and alumni)

🌐 Language: Bilingual Spanish/English

Interested in joining us? Sign up here!

You can join both days or just one day a week, depending on what works best for you.

So, if you have two left feet, bring them both! If you already know how to dance, even better! All you need is the willingness to move, have fun, and meet some great people.

Come dance with us and let's add a little more Mexican rhythm to our ASFG community!

Hope to see you on the dance floor!
