Dear ASFG Community,
On Thursday, October 23, and Friday, October 24, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., ASFG will be hosting an on-campus Influenza Vaccination & Preventive Medicine Campaign for the school community. Parents, students, family members, and family support staff are welcome to receive the vaccine. Please read the following information for specific instructions on how to sign up and where to go to receive it.
MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Middle and high school students can be vaccinated at the school’s nurse’s office, located next to the elementary cafeteria, during their recess time.
To receive the vaccine, students under 18 must have parent/guardian consent. If you would like your child to be vaccinated, please complete this form: Authorization for Students and instruct your child to go to the nurse’s office during their recess time on Thursday or Friday. The school will not be responsible for sending students to be vaccinated.
EARLY CHILDHOOD AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS
Early childhood and elementary school students can be vaccinated at the school’s nurse’s office, located next to the elementary cafeteria, if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Early childhood students can be vaccinated from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and should be taken home immediately afterward. Please avoid taking your child out of class to be vaccinated.
Elementary school students can be vaccinated during their recess time. If you would like your child to be vaccinated, please verify their recess schedule with the elementary office so you can be on campus at that time. Please avoid taking your child out of class to be vaccinated.
PARENTS AND OTHER ADULTS
A vaccination station will be set up in the upper school parking lot for parents and other adults.
To register, please use this form to select a date and time: Google Calendar for ASFG Community. If you would like to register more than one person, it is very important to submit a separate appointment for each individual.
To enter the parking lot, use Door 5, located on Filadelfia Street. Please ensure that you make an appointment before arriving at Door 5.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Influenza vaccination is particularly important to protect vulnerable populations and reduce the burden of respiratory illnesses during the circulation of SARS-CoV-2. The influenza vaccine can be administered simultaneously with, or at any time before or after, COVID-19 vaccines.
The vaccine that will be provided is Mexinvac by Sanofi (quadrivalent type A & B).
Reminders regarding the influenza vaccine:
Do not get vaccinated if you have an egg allergy or have had an allergic reaction to a previous dose of the influenza vaccine.
Do not get vaccinated if you have a fever of 101.3°F or higher.
Children ages 5 to 8 who have not received two doses should receive two doses one month apart, and then one dose annually.
Children ages 9 to 18 should receive one dose annually, regardless of prior vaccination history.
Infants under 6 months of age should not be vaccinated.
This campaign has been organized by Mr. Luis Alberto Altamirano Ramírez, Head of the Nursing Department at IMSS Clinic #2. The service is free of charge.
