Library
The goal in the library class is to broaden children’s awareness and experience of age-appropriate literature by having them listen to a range of stories throughout the year. We encourage enthusiasm for reading by helping students find books to match their interests and reading level. We also teach information literacy skills that help students to find the information they need for their projects, as well as the proper use of that information. The twoASFG school libraries are available for book check-out to anyone in the school community.
Art
Elementary students are fortunate to participate in an art class once every six days. The objective of the art curriculum is centeredaround students understanding and experimenting with the elements of art and principals of design. Practicing art allows for improvement of fine motor skills and students learn the creative process and critique process. A wide variety of art media and techniques are available to students in each grade level and there is the opportunity to create both 2-dimensional as well as 3-dimensional art pieces.
