Extended Learning
The developmental needs of young adolescents include developing competence and self-esteem, an orientation toward peers, a concern about social acceptance, a desire for autonomy, an innate curiousity to experiment and explore, and a need for self-expression. Exemplary middle schools provide students with programs and opportunities above and beyond the curriculum to address and capitalize upon these developmental needs. In the ASFG Middle School, we provide our students with a variety of opportunities for them to experiment and develop in safe, healthy, and positive ways. To learn more about these opportunities, please explore the links at left under Extended Learning.
